The Needle and I is an independently owned retail shop located in Rockford Illinois (a little over an hour's drive NW of Chicago's O'Hare International Airport).  We specialize in counted canvas work designs, counted cross stitch, needlepoint, beaded kits and designs, canvas on the bolt, pre-worked and hand painted canvases, hardanger cutwork and silk ribbon embroidery supplies.  We carry a great selection of gifts for all your stitching needs, as well as Gift Certificates.

Just about the time we moved to our present location here at Edgebrook Center, I began designing under the name - From Nancy's Needle.  I started with cross stitch charts embellished with hand made, hand painted clay.  I have since discontinued those and have switched to canvas work designs that use variegated flosses and speciality fibers.  Some of them use the hand made clay buttons.  They are easy and quick to stitch.
